Our Purpose
HEALTH IN MOTION aims to focus primarily on working with healthcare centers and assisted living facilities (and foster care centers as our future outreach) to build social connections through hosting events and volunteering, such as assisting nurses and caretakers in these facilities with patients and sharing stories/experiences with patients. By being able to focus on the improvement of social connections at assisted living facilities and healthcare centers, our incorporation of creative arts and education would play a significant role in promoting the well-being of the elderly. This, additionally, would be preeminent in vitalizing memory in those with dementia (or specifically Alzheimer’s disease), as creative activity is linked to slowing down the decline of cognitive function.
Our Mission
HEALTH IN MOTION is established to be carried on as a legacy after our current YOUTH BOARD and founders graduate from high school and college. We plan to expand our mission to several locations to continue our aim for the improvement of the well-being of patients and the opportunity for social connection and healthcare experience for our volunteers. Our mission is open to everyone, as we plan to expand our program throughout, fully integrating a youth-led volunteer program. Our YOUTH BOARD will try to participate to the best of our abilities in several service fairs in different locations, including Cardinal Newman High School, to provide opportunities for students to participate.
